TOP 1 Ack Attack breaks 16-year-old record

"The Duel in the Desert" comes to an end TOP 1 Ack Attack breaks 16-year-old record and holds it for two days.

The International Speed Trials by BUB wrapped up yesterday after a five day, all out contest to obtain the motorcycle land speed record resulted in the record juggling between teams. Averaging 342 mph, the TOP 1 Ack Attack became the first streamliner in over 16 years to be crowned the world’s fastest motorcycle, but the celebration was cut short.

The BUB Lucky 7 streamliner topped the two-day-old record with an average of just over 350 mph. After their record was topped, the TOP 1 Ack Attack posted runs approaching 350 mph, but drive problems due to a broken shaft and intermittent windstorms blew away the chances of breaking the BUB Lucky 7’s new record. Sam Wheeler, riding the EZ-Hook streamliner lubricated with TOP 1 Oil, set the fastest recorded time for a motorcycle at 355 mph, but was unable to complete a return run and set a new record due to a blown tire.
